I doubt that the pot-enthusiasts who declared 4/20 global cannabis day were astrologists. But, when you think about it, dude, it’s kind of the perfect moment to start off Taurus season, which coincides with Weed Day on the calendar this year. See, it’s not just that they share a date—they share the same philosophy, ethic, vibe. How so?
Garden culture. Whenever Taurus season comes around, one piece of advice I give clients is to surround themselves in nature and to connect deeply to the soil. Why? Taurus is our fixed earth sign. And this energy, more than any other in the zodiac, invites us to enjoy what comes from the earth—from its darling buds to its herbs and weeds. Gardening is the Taurus activity. What you choose to plant in your garden is up to you.
Sensual pleasure. Taurus season is all about pleasure, relaxation, imbibing, munching, and other such indulgences that are likewise the sine qua non of the 4/20 spirit.
Ritual and habit. Due to its fixed earth nature, Taurus season influences us to establish rituals and habits in our lives—like doing the same thing every day at 4:20pm.
Venus (love, pleasure, beauty) is the ruling planet of Taurus. Its energy betokens heightened sensory experience, whether for art, music, or the erotic delights of sensual touch. Cannabis is Venusian medicine in this regard, elevating the soul to the sacred heights of Mount Kushmore.
The knock on Taurus is that its energy can make us too low-key (some would say lazy). It’s basically the stoner of the universe, taking things very slow.
So, as you’re all blissed out watching some Cheech and Chong flicks this Taurus season—chin, fingers, and t-shirt orange from the jumbo pack of Cheetos you got from Costco—just remember to “dank the universe” and, always, stay starry-eyed.
