Welcome to this week’s BEST OF TIMES, WORST OF TIMES! We’ve basically got a tale of two weekends. Friday looks ruffffff. But Saturday looks quite literally lovely with Venus emerging from its retrograde. Let’s check these two transits out in more detail.
BEST OF TIMES: VENUS DIRECT
When: SATURDAY, APRIL 12th
Why: For 40 long days, Planet Love has been all hemmed up on her cramped, retrograde red-eye, eating suspect peanuts, while watching HBO on the in-fight entertainment, which, for some reason, only has 1.5 episodes of “White Lotus" and AirFrance documentaries about French pop singers no one has ever heard of.
But now Venus is off this flight, through customs, and in a Mercedes toward the city lights, Chanel No. 5 suffusing the air with liquid diamond hope.
Come Saturday, you should make a note to align with Planet Love yourself: date night, perfume, heels, and then some risky business with a paramour. We'll all be flying much friendlier skies.
WORST OF TIMES: SUN CONJUNCT CHIRON
When: FRIDAY, APRIL 11th
Why: To my mind, the day before Venus goes direct looks like the least auspicious transit of the week. That’s when Chiron (also known as “The Wounded Healer”) is conjunct the Sun.
Chiron is a little planetoid between strict Saturn and rebel Uranus. Mythologically, it was an immortal centaur and healer who suffered a wound at the hands of Hercules, yet kept helping others despite a pain so immense that he gave up his immortality to finally escape his affliction and die in peace.
In astrology, wherever Chiron transits, it exposes or brings attention to some wound in our own lives that must be healed.
On Friday, with Chiron conjunct the Sun (self, autonomy, public presentation), there could be some wound to our ego which we will need to heal through forgiveness, love, compassion.
